After graduating with a BSc in Biochemistry from the Moscow State University in 2007, Tim Skvortsov completed his PhD in transcriptomics of pathogenic mycobacteria at the Shemyakin-Ovchinnikov Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry in 2011. He then moved to the Queen’s University of Belfast to do postdoctoral research in metagenomics and later worked at ALMAC Biocatalysis on a number of directed protein evolution projects.
In 2018, he became a Lecturer and established his own research group at the School of Pharmacy of Queen’s University Belfast. Tim’s research interests include bacteriophage biology, bioinformatics, machine learning, and synthetic biology.
